Celestron

About Celestron…

Started by a hobbyist looking for a better telescope for his son, Celestron rapidly grew into a company offering a range of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. By 1970 the company had developed a way of producing SCT’s that not only performed well but were less costly to make, meaning owning an eight or ten inch telescope would soon be feasible for the backyard astronomer.   Schmidt-Cassegrains remain the backbone of Celestron’s product line but they’ve also brought us highly innovative products like EdgeHD optics for astro-imagers who mean business, SkyProdigy, the smartest telescope in the Universe,  as well as a wide offering of beginner level telescopes, microscopes, astronomy binoculars and a huge array of accessories.
